Our Philosophy

It is our goal to ensure every scholar has an individualized education. With a low teacher to student ratio, you can expect for your scholar to grow spiritually and academically. Our classrooms will practice the 5 E’s of education: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate. Project-Based learning will be a foundational approach that we will use to build each scholar’s abilities and confidence.

  • Destiny Benson

    FOUNDER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR

With a background in education alongside seeing the need for expanding the styles of instruction in our society, I believe S.T.I.C.E. is the best setting to connect children with their inner ability to naturally learn.

Obtaining my Texas Teacher Certification in 2017, I have taught children ranging from K-8th grade. Through my experience I understand the need for smaller classrooms, individualized instruction for ALL students, and hands on learning experiences for deeper comprehension. Creating S.T.I.C.E. was a no-brainer for my husband and I when we were faced with indecisiveness, while determining the educational standards for our children. I encourage everyone to join, our children deserve it!

  • Angela Patterson

    BOARD SECRETARY

I believe S.T.I.C.E. is the best place for children to receive that precise education that will help them on their next step as they discover who they are. I have had the great opportunity of working in the education field. My years of experience were with the early childhood age group and also working in the Special Education department. My experience in these areas has taught me that children need that One on One instruction that will help them blossom. Here at S.T.I.C.E. we TRAIN Teach, Reach, Involve, and Nourish our scholars.

  • Obed Pineda

    Devotional Instructor

Obed Pineda has been blessed to serve the Southeast Church of Christ for almost 7 years now. I have had the honor to teach and preach God's holy Word from the tender age of 13 (literally one week after I was baptized). I was mentored by brother Rodrigo Renteria at the Galena Park Iglesia de Cristo (a Spanish congregation in Houston) from the age of 15 until the age of 28, when he passed away. During my time in Houston, I worked with the youth group, taught a new converts class, and collaborated with several congregations in the Houston area and with the Cold Spring Church of Christ in Cold Spring, TX as well. I was blessed to be a member of Galena Park until November 15, 2015; the day when I officially began as the preacher of Southeast here in San Antonio.
